Bidjar/ Bijar rug and history
Bidjar is a relatively small Kurdish town in the west part of Iran. They are well known for using a heavy comb and compacting the pile into a dense strong knots. This sort of knot prevents small derbies to penetrate inside the rugs giving it long-lasting life and greater value. Knots are generally Turkish style with red, blue, and beige elements. The most well known of these rugs are called Herati. Rugs come in different sizes and patterns like fish or Medallion. They are very elegantly made which glorifies any environment.
