Kashan rug and history :
A city between the two largest cities in Iran with 120,000 population. The city is historically well known for its textile and pottery. In old days the city was a trading by-pass along the Silk Road. The famous Ardebil Rug in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London is the work of Kashan in the 16th century. To this day Kashan has kept its reputation of quality rugs. The pattern has a beautiful medallion design with niches, trees, or figural motifs along with floral of red, blue, and beige colors.
