Pakistan rug and history:

The rug manufacturing started in India and when Pakistan separated, Muslim weavers moved to Pakistan. In recent years they are using Newland wool yarn which gives the rugs a silky look. The high knot density rugs have stronger durability at a lower price than Persian rugs.

The quality of rugs especially in corners can not be compared to Persian rugs for durability. They are mass-produced in Karachi and Rawalpindi divided into Mori and Persian .90% of Mori rugs have Bokhara or Turkmenistan patterns. Ziegler rugs in Pakistan have patterns copied from the older traditional Arak district of Iran. Persia rugs are also manufactured in Pakistan have inspiration from Caucasian rugs that are sold as" Kazak fine" .
